DESCRIPTION: EPW - Longines, Swiss, U.S. Navy deck watch with 36-hour winding indicator, 68mm, .800 silver OF original Longines case with "U.S. Navy. No. 4039" marked to rear, silvered dial, SW-SS, lever escapement, 17J, snail-cam regulator, fausses-cĂ´tes pattern nickel damascene, s#2975265.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, good winding indicator function, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, main plate with fine scratch from inner edge adjacent regulator to outer edge near stem detent screw, dark spot at perimeter of main plate near pendant position, some small fine to micro-fine scratches elsewhere; excellent dial with some mild surface spots which include few small spots and more profuse tiny pinpoint spotting, few small fine scratches; excellent hands, some scratches and small oxide spots to hub of minute; case shows very light wear, an attractive dark patina though with a circular interruption of patina pattern at upper rear likely caused by a sticker applied at some time past which has also left some residue on surface, "0130" numerals have been scribed to lower rear perimeter, few very small nicks to band, no dents, engraving detail with mild reduction, case rear and cuvette open somewhat short of 90 degrees (to approximately 80 degrees and 75 degrees, respectively); tight bow, crown shows very light wear; good glass crystal.
